Daybook, 1797-1799.

This manuscript daybook documents the daily business transactions of sawmill workers Robert and John Kennedy of Connecticut from 1797-1799. Records indicate that they sawed logs into boards in exchange for food, clothing, shoes, liquor, and woven cloth. The Kennedys also farmed, producing primarily oats, corn, and rye. Occasionally they mended wagons and the wooden parts of other farm implements such as plows and harrows.
